Online information makes me wonder if I am related to you through Turner familes, so I am writing to you in hopes that you might be able to give me additional information.

It seems quite possible that one of my ancestor relatives named William Turner was closely related to your Turner family. He might have been a nephew of John Henry Turner. He was born about 1836, the same year that Elijah P. Turner was born. A story in my family says that William arrived in Choctaw County, AL in about 1850 from Georgia with two brothers, Allen and George Turner. William chose to stay in Alabama, but Allen and George moved on to Texas. I have not been able to find any information about an Allen or a George Turner, so I am wondering if that story was confused and Allen and George was actually Allen George Turner who was not William’s brother, but probably a cousin.

My Turner ancestors very often named their first children after their parents and/or other close relatives. Since William’s first child was named James and his second child was named John Henry, I’m thinking that maybe William’s father was named James and James was a brother of John Henry Turner. Interestingly, both Allen G. and Elijah named their first children William.
I would greatly appreciate anything you can tell me in this regard, especially whether John Henry Turner had a brother named James or if there were any James, William, Allen, or George Turners closely related to your Turner family.
