This is a scan of Jake Landers’ book of the history of Palmer School.  Mr. Landers had taken many years to compile and collaborate this information and is very generous to donate it to the Menard County Library.

Jake, thank you for all your many contributions about the flora and history about the Menard region and community. They are much appreciated. I don’t know how to post it, but have a picture of Miss Mahoney with her class at Waddell School. My brother Hank and sister Edith Harrison attended Waddell School in the Fall of 1943, when mother left for San Diego, where he was stationed during the war. Hank said when Miss Mahoney left the room, the boys set her school clock up so they could get out early. I am told our Uncle Albert Brisbin, who was married to Roberta Winslow Brisbin, taught there a short time in the 1930’s.
